Taqueria Diamante
About This Spot
Stepping into Taqueria Diamante on Broadway is like finding a little slice of Mexico nestled in the heart of Andersonville. The hum of friendly chatter, the welcoming smiles from staff like Tony and Cesar, and the relaxed, unpretentious vibe invite you to slow down and savor the moment. It’s the kind of place where the pace matches the rhythm of good company and shared plates, not the rush of the city outside.
The atmosphere is cozy yet lively, with upbeat music in the background that sets a warm, festive tone without overpowering conversation. You’ll often find locals gathered here before or after an evening at Wrigley, or families enjoying a hearty, flavorful meal any time of day. The space itself feels inviting — laid-back, colorful, and comfortable — where the focus is on connection, both to the food and to each other.
The kitchen offers a rich and genuine take on Mexican staples that go beyond the usual. Tacos come alive with vibrant, carefully seasoned fillings like al pastor and chorizo, each bite revealing layers of tradition and care. Burritos, enchiladas, and specialties like flautas or the comforting warmth of caldo de camaron showcase a menu that’s as big on heart as it is on flavor. There’s a thoughtful balance here between classic favorites and house touches — like the spicy kick of the diabla sauce or the refreshing tang of freshly made margaritas and micheladas.
What makes Taqueria Diamante stand out isn’t just the food but the genuine hospitality woven into every interaction. From quick, attentive service that respects your time to friendly conversations that make regulars feel like old friends, there’s a human warmth that carries through. For a late breakfast or an unhurried dinner, this spot embraces you with all the welcoming, spirited soul you hope to find in an authentic neighborhood eatery.

So good!! Al pastor & chorizo tacos are next level! Laid back Mexican vibe, great food, amazing service (@ Tony & Cesar), good prices, and BYOB. This is our new top spot for authentic Mexican! 10/10 highly recommend!

We had a great dinner for a group for my spouse’s birthday here before seeing a show at Wrigley. Food was excellent and they were so sweet helping us coordinate a nice celebration dinner. Highly recommend. Thanks for making her birthday so great

Great little taco place. The guy working there was like the most friendly person I've ever met. Salsas are both tasty and spicy. Burrito is pretty good Rice was a little light on flavor, some salt help, and the beans were good. Really good music playing in the back

Was greeted with a welcoming hello, the gentleman was polite. They have a full menu all day and they had specials. since I was on the go I opted for tacos de asada and was surprised with how quick he brought them out. Literally it was about 5 minutes, I got skeptical. Boy was I wrong. The meat was so flavorful and the salsa was so good the red one is spicier than the green one. Can’t wait to try more stuff.

One of my favorite place for late breakfast in Andersonville. Fresh, tasty, authentic Mexican dishes. Big portions. Everything is excellent - tacos, enchiladas, burritos, steak plates - but most I would recommend scramble eggs with barbacoa beef, in-house made sopes and their soups. On photos - tripe soup and eggs barbacoa. Very good, friendly service.

It was the most authentic and delicious Mexican food that I've had in a long time. All the ingredients are so clean and fresh in everything. The service was flawless and fast. No matter what happens, you must try the mole!!

Taqueria Diamante is a great neighborhood spot for fresh and flavorful Mexican food. The tacos are delicious with well-seasoned fillings, and the salsas add just the right amount of spice. Portions are generous, and the prices are fair, making it easy to try a variety of items without spending too much. The food consistently tastes homemade, and you can tell care goes into every dish. The service is friendly and welcoming, though the restaurant can get a bit busy during peak hours. The casual setting makes it a comfortable place to grab a quick bite or enjoy a relaxed meal with friends. Overall, Taqueria Diamante is a reliable and tasty choice in the area — definitely worth a visit if you’re craving good Mexican food!
